World Soccer Talk

The summer transfer window is almost to a closing a point, and it has been an amazing journey. Many star players from many clubs have been transferred and are experiencing new ways to play soccer. Here are five highlights of the summer transfer window:

1. Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United

Probably one of the most prolific strikers in Premier League history, Romelu Lukaku moved from Everton to Manchester United in a 90 million euro move. This caused shock waves in the soccer world, "Everton will receive an initial £75 million but the fee could rise to £90 million, which would eclipse the world record £89 million sum United paid Juventus for Paul Pogba last summer". After Romelu Lukaku's move to Manchester United however, Barcelona got a very interesting offer from Paris Saint-Germain, a super giant soccer club in France, which completely smashed this world record.

2. Leonardo Bonucci to AC Milan

Bonucci played for Juventus before moving to AC Milan, for which the fee is €42 million. Most of the Juventus fans called him a traitor for moving to a rival club, but through deep analysis, Leonardo Bonucci's move to AC Milan was quite the bargain based on Milan's quality signings in other positions of the field. Bonucci has improved drastically in form on the field with a team with such diverse qualities.

3. Neymar Jr. to PSG

Probably the most shocking transfer in the whole summer window, Neymar Jr. has officially moved to PSG for an estimated 222 million euros plus additional taxes. The soccer world was absolutely blown away when Neymar actually agreed to a deal offered by the super giant club. Just like Juventus' fans, Barcelona's fans were absolutely infuriated when Neymar left behind a legendary club in the dust.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
