The dreaded 8:00 a.m. class is something that college students try their hardest to avoid, but sometimes there is no way around them and the walk to class in the morning tends to bring up many thoughts. Last semester, I was one of those morning zombies who clearly woke up and got dressed with just enough time to speed walk to class and sit down seconds before the professor walks in. Here are seven things that run through a student's head on their way to an 8:00 a.m. class.
1. How many times has my alarm gone off again?
One too many times apparently because I'm not late... I'm super late!
2. Do I really need to go to class today?
Yes, you actually have to turn in your homework that you spent at least an hour on.
3. What can I wear that doesn't scream, "I woke up five minutes ago."
I definitely should have thought about my outfit last night, but nothing can cover up the fact I didn't put a single spec of make up on.
4. Why didn't I check the temperature before I came outside?
It's too cold to go to class, maybe I should turn back.
5. Wait, did I bring my lab safety goggles?
Panic mode engaged! Oh, wait here they are.
6. How long is this teacher going to lecture about everything other than math.
I don't know if i can stay awake any longer.
7. More homework means I'm going to have to come back tomorrow.
Why can't we have class canceled, just once!
Even though that 8:00 a.m. seems to be the bane of your existence as a student that stays up late, it will all be worth it when you worked hard for the grade you got and you will be proud of yourself for making it to the end. For those who are currently fighting through the struggle, stay strong! You can make it to the end, just try to get some sleep and don't give up.
