As I sat down this week in hopes to come up with an amazing, thought provoking article topic, tons of things ran through my mind. From what journalism means to why even write at all, in the end this is what I was left with, for better or worse, here are my thoughts while brainstorming, presented in a slightly more organized manner.
"What to write about?
Current events or personal experiences are always good...
Or a show! I've finished watching Between, that was a good show.
I cant believe he changed his Netflix password
Salt
What about Leslie Jones and the hate she's been receiving?
I hate her myself
Talk about your hate for Leslie Jones haha
No that's mean...
Yea..
I mean I could
Don't be that person
...Leslie Jones
What else? What else?
500 word minimum
What am I even passionate about?
Why is passion so heavily emphasized? Shouldn't I explore other topics to find passion?
It's not that deep, bruh.
What have you been doing besides procrastinating?
I do stuff
Talk about it...
umm *sings* talk about it, talk about it, gotta move on
Ok seriously
Seriously
What song is that?
*goes on Youtube*
*listens to 5 more songs*
What was I doing?
Your article?!?
I'll do it later
Now is later
I'm hungry
Write about food
Yea, Unsolved Mysteries: Caf. food
Now, that is hard hitting, real journalism right there.
Professor Morgan would be proud
Does this even count as journalism?
It can be like how do you define journalism?
That can be a topic.
A good one? Debatable...
I've done worse.
Alright, eat then write, sounds like a plan
...that I'm not going to follow through with
Tifah,
Think
Topics...
Talk about something personal, maybe a show you like
We've discussed that, no.
Revisit those old articles I never finished
Oooh or an article about articles you haven't finished--artception
I'm brilliant.
Or thoughts while writing. yea? why not?
Artception is still going to happen
Thoughts of a content creator?
Solid
That could work; fast, easy, relatable..sort of
This is happening
You are so lazy but brilliant
Genius
Yasssss
This is good."
While writing, there are so many things that I consider and deem them not good enough. Sometimes it is hard to tell and I am just stuck thinking, "this is either really good or just stupid".
I went for this one and, surprisingly, that a big part of being a creator in general, just going for it.
