Everyone loves the idea of summer: staying up late, no school, spending your days at the beach. Unfortunately, the picture perfect summer is never the case. I know that I for one normally just sit around doing nothing all summer and now that I'm older I seem to be working constantly. Now that school is starting again, here are a few thoughts we're all having this last week of summer vacation:
1. I'm not even tan
Actually, I don't think I ever even went to the beach. Isn't this what summer is supposed to be for? Now I'm just going to look extra pale this winter. I'm going to need to go get a spray tan.
2. My sleep schedule is soo off
Why did I sign up for 8 am classes? I swear every year that I'm not going to do this to myself again, yet here I am. I haven't been going to sleep until 2 am. How am I supposed to adjust in just a week?
3. I don't think I remember how to write
Why is it that every fall when I go to write my name on my paper my hand just turns into Jell-O? Prepare for the hand cramps that are coming.
4. I worked all summer, how do I not have any money?
I didn't have fun this summer, so you would think I would have money for fall. Where did it all go? How does this always happen?
5. I'm not ready to leave my hometown friends yet
I love my college friends but they get me for nine months out of the year, give me one more month with all of my old high school friends. Please?
6. What happened to that vacation I was supposed to take?
Summer is for road trips right? The furthest I went from home was the grocery store a few miles up the road. What ever happened to those summer family vacations we took when I was little?
7. New school year= new wardrobe!
I don't care that I'm in college, I'm still going back to school shopping. Every store has a sale on clothes and it's a wonderful time of year. Shopping with my mom for a tax-free weekend is my favorite part. I mean, who is going to tell me that those shorts aren't appropriate once I leave?
