The only time winter is tolerable is if it snows. The north is probably sick of it, but in the south, we shout praises when we hear there might be a snow day. This past weekend, Atlanta was ready to take on the cold winter storm. Once it arrived, only a few places really got snow. The rest of us got lots (or if anything, a little) ice. Here's what goes through everyone's head when it "snows."
The Night Before
1. THERE'S SUPPOSED TO BE SNOW!!!
2. Wow, winter has finally arrived.
3. School might be cancelled!
*watches the weather channel for the first time ever*
4. Do I even have winter clothes?
5. I guess I could layer...
6. It’s raining… the snow should be coming soon, right?
7. That’s all going to freeze tonight (at least that's what the weather man says).
8. The more ice, the more likely I have to wait to drive back—looks like I’m going back to school a day later.
9. Maybe if I wait a long time to go back, they will cancel class on Monday.
The Next Morning
10. SNOW DAY!!
*looks out window*
11. Nothing.
12. Absolutely nothing.
13. Just ice, no snow, no fun.
14. Maybe next winter...
15. Who am I kidding? I'll never see snow unless I move further north.
