63 Thoughts That Go Through Your Head During Class Registration

It's almost that time again. The time when it feels like you could not possibly be more stressed than you are right now. The time when your "perfect" plan can fall to pieces with one simple phrase, "This class is full." Class registration: you love it and you hate it (well, actually you probably just hate it). So gear up students, because it's almost time to enter that war zone again.

The Week Before:

1. Alright, time to log on and start looking at possible classes for next semester.

2. I don't even know what I need to take, maybe I should start with that.

3. Okay, so I have a list of what classes I should take (thanks, academic advisor). Time to start this search.

4. They have a Spinning class now?! I don't even need to take Spanish this semester -- Spinning sounds way better.

5. Okay, focus. I need to finish my gen. ed. classes.

6. Oh wait, I almost forgot to open another tab for RateMyProfessor!

7. "This professor curved half of the tests, no way to fail his class."

8. Yep, definitely registering for that one. Who cares if I don't need that class? I need something to boost my GPA right?

9. Look at me go! One class chosen, four more to go!

10. I guess I should take the history class that I've been putting off for three semesters now.

11. Why does every history professor have awful reviews?

12. What does one more semester without a history really hurt?

13. Every single class in my major is scheduled for the most inconvenient times. No, I don't want to be in your class at 8 a.m., but I also don't want to be there at 7 p.m. I have a life!

14. Okay, maybe I don't have a life, but let's be honest, I'm not going to go to that class 90 percent of the time if it's that late at night. That interferes with my Netflix time.

15. Maybe I should change my major.

16. Too late for that, I guess.

17. Back on track, let's see... Oh yes! One class I actually need and it is at 11 a.m. Perfect!

18. God is on my side today!

19. *Repeat these exact thoughts while searching for three more classes*

The night before:

20. I should probably double check my "ideal schedule" to make sure everything is set for tomorrow.

21. *Logs on to look at classes*

22. Wait... hold up. Where is the Music class I saw earlier?

23. I literally looked three days ago; you can't tell me it's not here anymore.

24. Code red.

25. Oh. It's right there, nevermind. False alarm.

26. Why did they schedule class registration at 8 a.m. on a Friday? That's my day to sleep in.

27. Okay, it's only one day, I can manage to wake up early.

28. My future depends on this.

29. It's 9 p.m. I'm going to get ready for bed -- I've got a big day ahead of me.

30. I'm just gonna check Instagram and Twitter really quick...

31. It's midnight already?! I was supposed to be asleep three hours ago!

32. Alright, enough, I'm going to force myself to go to sleep now.

The day of:

33. *alarm goes off* What is that horrific sound?!

34. Maybe if I put the pillow over my head it will go away.

35. Nope, still there.

36. Oh my gosh, it's registration day, have to get up!

37. It's a good thing that I can do this in the comfort of my apartment, because I currently look like a disgrace to the human race.

38. Alright, 10 minutes to go, I'm so ready for this.

39. I wonder if everyone else is as stressed as I am about this.

40. Probably not, I don't think that's possible.

41. Five minutes!

42. If all else fails, I guess I can just drop out of college and live with my parents for the rest of my life.

43. I'm sure they won't mind, right?

44. One minute!

45. Prepare for battle.

46. It's time.

47. *Logs in*

48. "Must fill out 'Student Financial Responsibility Form' before continuing"

49. What?! You didn't want to tell me this sooner?

50. All my classes are going to be closed now.

51. Thanks, college.

52. *Enters course names*

53. "MUSC 232 is closed." "Span 200 is closed." "DSCI 230 is closed."

54. Well, there goes everything...

55. I'm going to end up taking an 8 a.m. and a 7 p.m. class.

56. Could life get any worse?

57. Time to regroup on absolutely every single thing that I planned.

58. Sure, I'll fit this class into my schedule.

59. Oh wait. I don't even have a schedule right now, so of course it fits.

60. *Stresses about adding three more classes*

61. My schedule actually didn't turn out as bad as I thought it would.

62. I deserve to take this day off to binge-watch Netflix.

63. Sorry professors, I can't come to class today due to over-stressing myself out this morning.

Good luck to all of you that have to endure this war zone known as class registration. It will be more stressful than you remembered from last time because it always is. Once it is all over, please treat yourself to a whole day of sleep (forget about the class you have to go to) because you definitely deserve it. May the odds be ever in your favor.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
