Dreaded finals week is right around the corner and we are all feeling the pressure as it starts to build. The deadline for final papers, projects and presentations are near and we all know that is enough pressure. Here are thoughts that every college student thinks during finals week.
How did this semester go by so fast?
It feels like Syllabus Week was just a month ago, right? It doesn't seem like August was that long ago, but it's here... we're in the last few weeks of the semester.
Why did I wait so long to start?
You're finally starting to hate yourself for starting that paper that's been in the syllabus that also just happens to be due the week before finals. You planned on working on it right after midterms when your classes were slow for a couple of days, but now that it's crunch time, you have the paper and exams to study for.
How do I mentally prepare myself to study for all of these tests?
With so much of your grades being determined in just one week, it is hard to prioritize what is most important and what isn't. Your best bet is breaking it up by chapter or unit for each class. Study a few chapters of one class, take a break, and switch to another class.
How much coffee is too much?
There's not enough time to get a full eight hours of sleep in but there is always enough time to grab a cup of coffee. You don't care if the barista messes up, you just care about the caffeine that will fuel your next few hours of studying.
Why do they do this to us?
If we got through the whole semester with a decent grade, why do the professors feel the need to torture us with a cumulative test at the end? I'm sure I can talk about the subjects we learned to prove what I have learned during the class, but a test without formulas and with a bunch of definitions...I'll pass, thank you very much.
