15 Songs You Actually Still Listen To And Maybe Dance To

We all know those songs that... well we would never admit still get sang in front of the mirror with a hair brush. These are the songs that we belt out at the top of our lungs in the car or dance to in the bathroom when we think our roommates can't hear us. Some of them are songs from our "Punk Rock" or "Emo/Gothic" middle school phase, that time we liked country music, or maybe just a really inappropriate rap song our moms would never let us listen to. So here are 15 songs we all still listen to:

1) Don't Stop Believin' - Journey

Although this song may have been originally popular during our parents middle or high school days it is still one of the most requested songs according to djeventplanner.com. It is one of those songs we all know and can't help but sing along to.

2) Single Ladies - Beyonce

This is one of those songs that was played way too much on the radio when it first was released. However, its popularity is still very overwhelming. It is both a anthem for woman and very catchy. It also creates a great opportunity for your own bathroom dance recital after Glee's special giving us all the perfect dance moves to go along with it.

3) Baby Got Back - Sir- Mix-A-Lot

This song doesn't even need a description. I haven't met anyone that doesn't rap along to every word of this song while doing some kind of silly shuffle.

4) I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)- Proclaimers

This song makes its appearance in many popular Movies and TV shows including How I Met Your Mother.

5) Mr. Brightside- The Killers

One of those emo/gothic punk songs that we all knew and loved. It is one of those that always pops up in our itunes list when we least expect it.

6) Chicken Fried- Zac Brown Band

There is always that one country song that has to be sang along to in the car.

7) Gold Digger- Kanye West

This one was also featured on Glee and was very popular. It still gets requested often and always ensues many people trying to sing along.

8) Call Me Maybe- Carly Rae Jepsen

Although many people find this song annoying and there has been thousands of covers it is still very catchy. Everyone knows all the words and when its played in the car on the way to work I bet you are singing along.

9) My Girl- Temptations

An iconic Motown favorite that still is relevant today pays great homage to our lovers and the harmonies are just amazing. This is a great song for those bathroom concerts.

10) Hot in Heree- Nelly

We can not leave out a song that everyone knows at least one line of. "Its getting Hot in Heree... So take off all your clothes." Although I am sure my mom made me turn off this song a few times its still a secret favorite. Anytime anyone says its getting hot... we know you think of this song.

11) Wonderwall- Oasis

12) What Makes You Beautiful- One Direction

Another pop favorite that is relatively new however, it does a great job of reminding us that we are all beautiful. This reminiscent song makes our days just a little bit better and its always a favorite to sing along to.

13) Sugar We're Goin Down- Fall Out Boy

The anthem of your middle school days... which Fall Out Boy is still very popular. Their music is even better now if your looking to get back into some of the best pop rock out there.

14) Black Parade- My Chemical Romance

You never really lived in middle school if you didn't enjoy this popular song by My Chemical Romance. Although, they may not be as popular as Panic! At the Disco this particular song is one that I still hear sung under people's breaths because it does quickly get stuck in your head.

15) Let's Get It On- Marvin Gaye

Well.. we will just leave it at that.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
