Loss is an unforunate part of life we all will experience. Death. Breakups. Loss of friendships. You will never go throughout this life and not lose something or someone.
To Those I Lost Along The Way:
If you are in Heaven, which I know you are, I hope you are having an amazing time with Jesus. I often, for selfish reasons, want you back here on Earth with me because I miss your physical being, however I remind myself you now have a front row seat to all that I do. You left me with lessons and wisdom I carry every single day. You taught me the importance of a moment, a hug, and a laugh. Those are things I will never get to experience with you until I see you again. I hope I am making you proud because you are something to be proud of. I am proud to call you a piece of me. Some days I get jealous of those angels in Heaven, but you deserve ever lasting happiness, and that is what you are receiving now. It is no joke when they say: "your wings were ready but my heart was not". I miss you more than words could ever describe, but this time apart is only a fraction compared to the time we will spend together soon.
If you are still living, but we have gone our separate ways: I will never wish anything bad on you. We were once a huge part of each other's lives. I know what an incredible person you are. I know what you used to love and hate. I know what your goals were, and your biggest fears. If those things are still the same, and even if they are not, I hope life is going great for you right now. Although you are not in my life anymore, that does not mean you did not have an impact on it. We all make mistakes, including myself, and for yours I forgive you. Thank you for the memories and lessons we both shared. Life is so incredible and I hope you truly find happiness, no matter the path you take to get there. I will still support you, cheering quietly in the background, or I will be there for you if needed, no matter what. This world is yours to conquer, go get it.
Loss does not always have to be viewed as a bad part of our lives, even if it does hurt us in some ways. Because when we lose something, there is always room to gain.
