Monday 8.22.16: ELO- Tattoo (feat. Jay Park)

I haven’t listened to ELO’s previous songs, but I know that when he features on songs they are good. this one is a good song, maybe not the best. Also, since Jay Park is on the song the actual track sounds like Jay Park’s “Welcome” to a certain degree. It’s a nice and sultry R&B song, which is a great song to relax to. However, it’s a good song just not the BEST.

Monday 8.22.16: Soul One- No Jam (Feat. EVO)

I have never heard of Soul One before this song, and I’m glad I did. This song is a refreshing 80s, R&B song that has catchy lyrics. I’m not truly a fan of the music video (I did further investigation). But, the song itself was actually pretty good.

Monday 8.22.16: Ailee- If You

Ailee is truly an amazing singer, and this song showcases that. With its old school soul sound, that is influenced by Gladys Knight’s “Midnight Train to Georgia”, it shows how talented she is. I would like to hear this song every once in a while (it’s a preferece). But, it’s actually a pretty good song if you want a little “soul” in your life.

Monday 8.22.16: BGM4- Ice Cream

I personally don’t like very cute or “bubblegum” pop songs. So, this song is not my favorite unfortunately. It is a little annoying to be honest.

Tuesday 8.23.16: Crush & Han Sang Won- Skip

I was excited for this song, but this song sounds similar to Crush’s “I Hate Them” with the R&B/Funk sound. It’s not a bad song—don’t get me wrong—but Crush’s songs are starting to sound very similar to one another. However, he is still very talented; but, the song didn’t cut it for me.

Tuesday 8.23.16: Han Dong Geun- Amazing You

I have never heard any of Han Dong Geun’s songs, but I am a fan now. His voice is very pure and gentle, which is perfect for ballads. This song is really beautiful and I will definitely have this song on repeat for a while.

Tuesday 8.23.16: Hi Temperature-The Day We Said Goodbye

This song is cute, but I could only listen to it once. Her voice is really childlike and it can get a little annoying. The backgound track reminds me of a song that I heard on a drama before;however, I can’t remember what drama it was. Overall, I am not a fan of it.

Wednesday 8.24.16: Urban Zakapa- Thursday Night (Feat. Beenzino)

This is definitely a song that embodies summer. The light and airy vocals combined with the upbeat background track, makes this the perfect song for an afternoon drive with your convertible roof down. Plus, I love Beenzino, who has been popular recently, due to his album release “12” not to long ago. I think Urban Zakapa and Beenzino’s collab worked pretty well, even though I never would have visualized it working to begin with.

Wednesday 8.24.16: Kim Ji Soo- Rain & U (Feat. G2)

I honestly was more into the background track, rather than the actual singer. I could have just listened to the instrumental and been okay with it. I am not saying he is a bad singer, I just didn’t like the two together. The main highlight was the rap sections by G2, if this was his song, I may have liked it a little more.

Thursday 8.25.16: Spica- Secret Time

I have been waiting for them to comeback with their new single. It’s rare for a girl group where all of them have INSANE range in their vocals. This is a good Pop/R&B/ Electronic song that can satisfy Pop, R&B, and Electronic music lovers. I will definitely have this song on repeat for a while.

*Sidenote- check out their covers to other Kpop singers and covers to English songs as well…..you will NOT be disappointed.

Thursday 8.25.16: Lee Se Joon, Ali, YESUNG, NC.A- Melody for You

This is a sweet collabrative ballad between four well known ballad singers. I thought it was a pretty song with its light acoustic sound, and their airy singing voices. This song just makes you feel happy and calm, it’s the perfect de-stress song. Personally, I usually don’t like songs like these;but, this one is quite nice.

Stars: 3.5

Thursday 8.25.16: Real Girls Project-Dream

I wans’t a fan of this song, but I can tell that the girls in the group can SING for sure. It is a cute and whimsical pop song that is perfect for working out or a mini dance party by yourself. Overall, the song is okay its just not my favorite.

Stars: 2

Friday 8.26.16: The Quiett- Mission (Feat. Dok2)

I have been a fan of The Quiett for years, and this song is his classic self. The Quiett tends to make music that embodies “Old School” vibes, and this song is no different. Dok2 is also an amazing artist as well, so the collab between the two was really nice. I will definitely have this song on repeat for sure.

Stars: 4.5

Friday 8.26.16: NCT DREAM- Chewing Gum

I have not a clue how many people is actually in NCT, because they have so many sub-groups coming out with music recently. However, this song is different from the NCT U and NCT 127, its quirky and “bubblegum” pop. NCT U and NCT 127 is more hip hop and R&B based, so this was a bit of a surprise. It’s cute, catchy and WILL get stuck in you head whether you like it or not. Personally, I though it was okay, but I like NCT U and NCT 127’s music better.

Stars: 3

Friday 8.26.16: ELO-Rose

ELO has been releasing some good musi recently, and I’m excited to listen to the full “8 Femmes” ablum. This song has that retro/funk sound with a heavy drumline that you can’t help but bob your head to the beat. I am in love with this song, which is the complete opposite from “Tattoo” that was released earlier this week.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
