We've all been low on cash, correct? But would you ever offer to pay for a car with your homegrown weed instead of money? Well, a couple in Colorado did.
Two Coloradans, Shawn Langley (39) and Jane Cravens (41), saw an SUV listed for sale on Craigslist and contacted the seller who, coincidentally, was a sheriff. Jason Mikesell said that when he received Langley's text offering to pay for the car with weed, he was "really surprised and I thought at first, 'Maybe this is a joke.'" Langley proceeded to dig himself a deeper hole when he "sent photos of the product, boasting about its quality, authorities said," according to gazette.com.
The following morning, Mikesell showed the texts to detectives; the situation turned into an undercover "bust." Detectives set up for the couple to meet them for the swap in Woodland Park. Much to their surprise, Langley and Cravens received handcuffs in exchange for their four pounds of marijuana. The duo was arrested late November and charged for "suspicion of possession with intent to sell."
Mikesell said that he won't be relisting his SUV on Craigslist.
