So living on your own is a learning experience for sure. And I guess I assumed that the lessons ended once I moved out of my dorm. I considered that to be basically “adult living”. Turns out I was wrong… Like really, super wrong. Every day I am reminded of just exactly how wrong I was.
Having a house is fun, don’t get me wrong! But it is also an extreme amount of work. There is a lot more space to keep clean. And not only that, but now there are bills. And in the real world there are consequences for not paying your bills. And these consequences cause a snowball effect. Kinda like in the book “If You Give a Moose a Muffin”. Like if you give a moose a muffin, he’s going to want some milk. And then if you give him milk, he’s going to want you to read him a story and so on.
But this is more like if you don’t pay your trash bill, the trash man won’t come to your house. And if the trash man doesn’t come to your house, your trash doesn’t get picked up. And if your trash doesn’t get picked up, you have to find a place to store it. And if you have to find a place to store your trash, you are obviously going to choose to put it into your garage. And if you put a large amount of trash in your garage for say 3 weeks (adulting is HARD), then it is going to attract gnats. And if your trash attracts gnats, they are going to invite gnat friends. And if your gnats invite their friends, there is going to probably be a big gnat party. And if there is a big gnat party, some of the gnats are bound to hook up. And if some of the gnats hook up, then they will end up having babies. And if your gnats have babies you will eventually understand where I am at in my life… Attack of the gnats. And once you understand where I'm at in life, you will begin to understand just how hard it is to be an adult. Because I know for a fact this would never happen to my parents. Or just a real adult.
