Everyone faces instances in their lives’ where there is nothing to do but just go with the flow. I like to call each of these instances a “this is fine,” moment. It may be an awkward situation where you are randomly partnered up with your ex, or maybe having a friend embarrass you in front of a group of people. Each day we face at least one “this is fine,” moment. Some are more extreme than others, and some land right on the verge of being not fine. No matter what you face throughout the day you just have to stop, take a deep breath, shrug your shoulders, and say to yourself, "this is fine." Below are 11 day-to-day occurrences that would be considered a "This is fine," moment.

1. Having your stomach growl during the middle of a test in a quiet room and having the feeling that everyone heard it.

2. Not knowing the answer to something when you get called on in class so you just sit there pretending to think, then the instructor calls on someone else and they answer correctly right away.

3. Saying goodbye to someone and then walking in the same direction as them, for a lengthy period of time.

4. Your phone dying/internet disconnecting in the middle of watching the season finale of your current Netflix binge.

5. When the person you're casually flirting/hanging out with develops deeper than expected feelings for you and you’ve lost all control of the situation.

6. When you wave to someone that you thought was waving to you but then you realize they were waving to the person behind you.

7. When your friends come over and end up giving more attention to your pet than you.

8. Accidentally staring at someone across the room and then realizing not only that you’re staring but also that they saw you stare.

9. When you have plans to hang out with a friend and when you get there, it turns out to be a group activity instead of one on one.

10. When you fall asleep and forgot you made plans with someone and then wake up to a hundred worrying calls and texts.

11. Finally to top it off, what I think is THE "This is Fine," moment is... Scrolling through someone’s social media and then accidently liking a photo/post from three years back. This one is right on the border of “This is fine,” and, “This is not fine.”

Every day we are faced with these and many more embarrassing, awkward, or weird situations. From now on whenever anything remotely similar to any of the things on this list happens to you, I want you to take a deep breath in, shrug your shoulders, and say, "This is Fine."

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
