11 Things Your Younger Siblings Do To Piss You Off

Go ahead, tell Mom.

If you're an older sibling, you might have a love/hate (but mostly hate) relationship with your younger siblings. Sometimes it feels like they're intentionally trying to piss you off, and it's one of the most frustrating parts of your life. Here are a few things they do that make you go crazy.

1. Steal your clothes

This is the classic sibling move that causes every older sibling annoyance and anger. They walk into your room like they own the place and feel entitled to take anything they want, whether or not it fits or is age appropriate.

2. Get away with everything

You tell them at least once a day, "I would've never gotten away with that when I was your age." They back talk your parents, complain until they get anything they want, ask for money all the time, and do everything you never were allowed to do at their age.

3. Blame you for their mistakes

Oh they flooded the bathroom again because they forgot to turn off the sink? Your fault, obviously. They fell and scraped their knee? Because you pushed them, of course.

4. Tattle

They live for overhearing your conversations on the phone so they can run and tell your parents everything you said. They caught you sneaking out and threaten to tell if you don't give them $30. They know you have bad grades so they make sure your parents ask for them.

5. Expect you to drop everything for them

On the way to dinner with your friends? According to your sibling, you should actually be picking them up from soccer practice. Trying to finish your 5 page research paper? Instead you end up helping them with their fractions. Relaxing and watching Netflix? You end up making them dinner so they stop complaining. The worst part is that they get away with it because your parents are too busy to help them instead.

6. Embarrass you in front of your friends

They do this in front of your friends, boyfriend/girlfriend, or just in front of the general public. They love telling everyone awkward stories about you from when you were younger and casually try to make you look like an idiot.

7. And then try to befriend your friends

They act like you don't exist until you bring a friend over to your house. Then they won't leave you alone. They try to come into your room, want to be a part of your conversations, and become an overall annoyance until your friend leaves.

8. Have your parents wrapped around their fingers

Your younger siblings always smirk behind your parents' backs when they know that they have them hook, line and sinker.

9. Wake you up obnoxiously early

Especially on holidays. They can't wait past 7 a.m. for you to wake up so they can open their Christmas presents.

10. Flaunt everything they get

They won't let you forget that they had ice cream today and you didn't. Or that they got a phone before you did at their age. They have to one-up you in everything.

11. Have to be the center of attention

It doesn't matter if you got accepted to your dream school, had a near death experience, or cured freaking cancer. Whatever they have to say always takes precedence in their minds. They interrupt you nonstop so that they can have the attention focused on them.

But they're your siblings, and deep down you love them... or at least that's what you're supposed to tell people.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
