Many of us are lucky to have friends who come from all different backgrounds. With different cultural backgrounds, comes different lifestyles. The Lebanese culture is no exception to this. If your friend is Lebanese here is what you can expect and if you are Lebanese, I am sure you know what I am talking about.

1. Their parents can be overprotective.

They'll even make them send a picture to prove where they are.

2. You'll be greeted with at least 2 or 3 kisses.

The world may never know.

3. They won't eat store-bought hummus.

How could they betray their mother's homemade hummus like that?

4. All Lebanese know each other somehow and are possibly related.

It's their dad's cousin's cousin who married her friend's brother... whatever they're just related, okay?

5. You'll be offered coffee and get this…

Sorry but you don't get milk with this stuff.

6. Their mom and/or grandma will most likely interrogate you.

Do you want one? I know someone if you want me to introduce you.

7. Also, be prepared to eat a lot.

Don't act like you don't want to try everything they offer.

8. And just when you think you're done eating… there will be dessert.

There is no end to the amount of food that will be served.

9. They will get insulted if you confuse their flag with the Canadian flag.

Come on...one is a red maple leaf and the other is a green cedar.

10. You'll go to a Lebanese party and wonder why everyone on the dance floor is doing this.

It's called debke and you will probably end up learning it.

11. They have enough relatives to populate an entire town.

And they probably do populate the town.

12. They already know you expect them to bring Lebanese food to a potluck.

Even when all they want to do is buy something and go they'll still make Lebanese food for you.

Shout out to everyone with a Lebanese friend!!! You are very lucky!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
