23 Things You Said In Junior High That'll Totally Make You Cringe Now
@lizziemcguiredisney

There were a hundred of dumb sayings that went around in junior high. Things that you thought were totally acceptable. Now, those things make you cringe. They make you wonder how you had friends, why people talked to you, and honestly why you were allowed outside. Shall we move forward with a trip down memory lane? I think so.

1. "Don't text me after 8 PM"

The days of rules about your phone. Or the worst one - when you accidentally hit the web browser icon on your flip phone.

2. "I hate _______. They're so hard."

There was always that one teacher that no one wanted.

3. "I promise, we'll still be friends in high school."

Ok, sometimes you do stay friends with people from junior high, but in a lot of cases you don't.

4. "Dude, don't copy me."

Honestly, LOL.

5. "Can your mom take us?"

Remember when you didn't have a license or a car?

6. "Let's get awkward."

Ok, maybe YOU didn't say this. I received this reply though, so just go with it.

7. "2010!!!!!!"

I vividly remember yelling 2010 while dragging it out at almost every event that occurred in that uncomfortable year.

8. "Eighth graders are so big."

Lol, sixth graders.

9. "Lunches here are way better."

Mainly, because you had more than one option. Also, shoutout to the pizza quesadilla because that lunch was a dream.

10. "Heyyy"

Why did we add so many Y's to our heys???

11. "I'm totally going to decorate my locker!"

You longer have a desk to stuff all of your stuff into! You get to decorate your locker, and tbh it probably looked like The Jonas Brothers threw up in there.

12. "Ugh, I can't wait to be older."

We were wrong. SO very wrong.

13. "Like for a truth is!!!"

What a joy it was to read almost the same "truth is" from everyone who walked the earth.

14. "Awkward."

Can anyone tell me why this word was popular throughout junior high?

15. "I'm going to the nurse so I don't have to run the mile today."

We all hate that the state required those stupid fitness tests.

16. "I just want to go to high school."

Let's be honest, eighth graders are sick of being around 6th graders.

17. "Sixth graders are so annoying."

Again, a common quote from 8th graders.

18. "Can I go to my locker?"

The most common quote to get out of class.

19. "I miss recess."

No more recess. Now, you only do schoolwork.

20. "I'm never going to memorize my schedule!!"

We all said it. It was daunting.

21. "We've only been dating for two weeks, but we're in love."

WHY WAS THIS A THING? YOUR PARENTS HAD TO TAKE YOU ON YOUR "DATES".

22. "I heard she kissed you... on the lips."

Or when people planned their first hug...Oh, what a time to be alive.

23. I'm so glad we can wear makeup now!!

The real question is: how on earth are all of these 12-year-olds so good at makeup now??

Junior high was a time of new beginnings. It was filled with many uncomfortable moments, puberty, and an endless amount of possible drama. Thankfully, we no longer have to deal with being "Brace Face." That time in our lives are behind us, and we get to look back and contemplate every ridiculous thing we did or wore. RIP junior high.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
