5 Things You've Definitely Been Putting Off That You Need To Do Right Now

In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, a lot of us slack on some really basic chores that will make your life easier and more organized. If you're reading this, I am assuming you have some free time, so get to it! Here are some things you should do right now and just get them out of the way.

1. Do your laundry.

Giphy

I am guilty of this sometimes. I push off doing laundry because I have oh-so-many other clothes I could wear right? Right, until you're in a rush or want to wear something that is dirty. Just get up and do it. Have your whole wardrobe at your disposal always and get that intimidating pile in your closet out of the way. You'll feel so much better and check something off of your todo list!

2. Vacuum.

Giphy

Vacuum your house. I know vacuuming isn't anyone's idea of fun, but there is nothing better than a clean home. It is something that needs to be done regularly. It will make your space feel much home-ier and cleaner. There is no downside!

3. Switch out your sheets and towels.

Giphy

You sweat when you sleep, and your towels might not be fully dry every time you use them. This means funky smells and breeding grounds for bacteria. If you have acne prone skin or have sensitive skin, this tip is even more important for you. Your body repairs itself while you sleep and your skin is most susceptible to the environment right after a shower. Take the time to make sure your sheets and towels are clean so that you can be happy, clean and healthy!

4. Wash your face.

Giphy

In conjunction with the previous statement, wash your face! It baffles me how many of my friends and peers are so ok with falling asleep with their makeup on. I could not even dream of doing that. Treat your skin right, and it will make you feel better and look better. Sleeping with your makeup on is so bad for your skin and doesn't give it the time to regenerate overnight which could lead to collagen being produced less frequently which means quicker aging. Not to mention the pore-clogging makeup that will without a doubt make you break out eventually. Do yourself a quick and easy favor, and wash your face.

5. Take a deep breath.

Giphy

It may feel like you have a lot to do right now, you probably do, but you've got this. Take a deep breath, prioritize, and get things done. You've got this.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
