We only have a few more weeks until we go back, so it's time to reminisce about the things we miss about OSU.

1. The independence

Let's start this list off with one of the biggest things we're missing: the independence that comes with college. You're away from your family. You control your own schedule and time. You're in charge of how every day goes, and that's something that, while living at home during the summer, you don't completely have.

2. Game day

Whether you're there for the school spirit, the energy, or because you love the game, OSU's football games have got you covered. They're a huge part of our school and a great part of the college experience!

3. Friday nights

Anything can happen...

4. The Short North

The Short North has clothing stores, food, coffee, and great energy. If you are looking for something to do, I can guarantee that the Short North has something for you.

5. The Oval dogs

I swear, I see more dogs at college than anywhere else, and that brings me such joy! The Oval dogs can make my day go from bad to great instantly!

6. Treating the Oval like the beach

When the weather is good, the best place to be is the Oval. Students can be found playing sports, tanning, playing with dogs, napping, etc. It's such a good atmosphere when you need to get away from the stress of classes.

7. The Columbus coffee scene

Now, I know not everyone is as addicted to coffee as I am, but there are so many coffee shops around campus that you're bound to find one that you love. There's One Line Coffee, Mission, Short North Coffee, and Kafé Kerouac just to name a few.

8. German Village

If you've entirely explored the Short North, go a little farther and check out the German Village. It's a quaint area of Columbus and has MORE coffee shops, restaurants, and most importantly, The Book Loft. Picture endless (or 32) rooms full of books. It's a dream and the perfect place to find your next favorite book!

9. Fox in the Snow's coffee cake

Speaking of coffee shops, this specific shop gets a special shout out for their coffee cake. Just trust me on this.

10. The people

The thing we all miss most is the people that we don't get to see every day during the summer. These people are the ones that really make the college experience, and I cannot wait to get to see them again!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
