Things To Know When Dating A Family Oriented Girl

A family oriented girl is someone whose life revolves around her family. She's the girl whose Instagram is covered in pictures of her siblings, her Facebook page is full of comments from aunts and grandparents, she even calls her mom everyday to update her on life. She's an expert at maintaining relationships and has a love for putting others first. There are hundreds of articles telling you why dating a family oriented girl is awesome, which it is, but there are also some things that may surprise you. So here are some things to know when you date a family oriented girl:

Family is, and always will be, her number one priority.

She will want to become part of your family.

She will gladly sit with your crazy Aunt and talk with her about her cats for hours.

She will expect you to attend at least one of the six family Christmas parties.

She will most likely never want to move far from home.

If her parents don’t like you, you might as well just walk away.

She probably has her wedding planned, kids' names picked out and future house plans drawn, but do not freak out, because she had this long before she met you.

You’re expected to get along with her brother on some level.

You will see a whole new (weird) side of her when she is surrounded by her family.

She will want to know every detail about your family.

The similarities between her and her mom will freak you out.

She learned at a young age that love is not a fairy tale, but it is worth fighting for.

She will do anything to get your family to like her.

You probably resemble her dad in some way.

She is very comfortable being open with her family, which means that she will have no problem being open with you.

Be prepared to meet grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, great aunts and uncles, second cousins, the second cousin's kids, the cousins cousins from the other side...

If you are looking for someone to spend the rest of your life with, then a family oriented girl is the one to date. There will be times when she does something that freaks you out, like scrolling through pictures of babies on Google, but she highly values her future and knows there is a right time for everything. You will never experience love greater than the love she will have for you, but just be warned: a family oriented girl will steal your heart, and it will be hard to get back.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
