Things to Do on a Friday Night

As I sit in my bed on a Friday, trying to decide on what I should waste my time doing tonight, I figured I could come up with some ideas for everyone bored on a Friday night.

1. Binge watch Netflix

It's been a long week, and you have had no time to get caught up on "Scandal" or the new season of "Revenge." No one needs to know that you watched a whole season just tonight. So go ahead, #TreatYoSelf.

2. Sleep

Let's be honest, between homework, chapter meetings and social functions with your sorority, you rarely get to bed before midnight. Take this event-free evening as an opportunity to get caught up on some much needed rest, your body will thank you.

3. Have a slumber party

What could be more fun than an old fashioned slumber party? With everyone busy all week, you might not even see any of your friends. This is such a great way to catch up! Bring out the pillows, nail polish, boy talk and LET'S DO THIS THING.

4. Craft (for your little)

So what you have already painted 6 canvases, 3 cups and a cooler? The more the merrier!! Get knee deep in acrylic paint and glitter!

5. Go out

This might be the only time you ever can go out (because you're such a responsible student and always studying). You owe it to yourself to have a wild and crazy night out everyone and a while, so throw on some wedges and make tonight one for the books.

6. Have a wine night

Nothing better than a wine night in with the gal pals. Grab a bottle worth more than $8, and you are in store for a sophisticated and memorable evening.

7. Have a game night

Taboo? Poker? Cards against humanity anyone? No one has never not had fun playing Cards Against Humanity ever!

8. Clean

Throw your favorite jams and get to cleaning! You will wake up feeling less stressed and more organized.

9. Read

Read anything! The latest Cosmo, "Twilight" (again), a new sexy thriller, whatever your heart desires!

10. Study (get ahead in your classes)

Make mom and dad proud! If you send them a picture of yourself studying on a Friday Night, it will restore all of their faith and trust in you!

TGIF Y'all!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
