10 Things I Plan to Do While in London This Summer

Eat at one of Gordon Ramsey's restaurants.

He is always talking about how terrible everyone else's food is, so I've been dying to try the food at one of his restaurants. What better place to do so than in the UK!

Take in a Musical.

There are so many awesome showings, I might have to take in two or three different shoes to get the whole experience.

Find myself a local chippy.

Apparently, if you really want to have amazing Fish 'n Chips you need to find a small take out place like this one.

Have dinner on the River Thames.

Insert dreamy sigh here.. How cool is that!

Send postcards to my favorite people back in the states.

Giphy

My little sister loves getting mail. I'm planning to send a cool postcard home every week.

Go on all the field trips!

Giphy

The best part about the program I chose is all the amazing field trips we get to go on as a class! We'll be going everywhere, from Buckingham Palace, to Dover Castle, to the British Library. I'm even going to try to make time to see Hampton Court Palace, I want to make sure I get a look at every building I've ever admired in the hours of British History Documentaries that I've watched over the years.

Go Shopping.

Giphy

Because it's LONDON, I have to. It's pretty much a requirement.

Have Tea.

Giphy

Another requirement, and I have the cutest dress to wear for this!

Go to church on Sunday.

London has some beautiful churches and I need to see them in person! I'm hoping I can even catch a service.

Keep you guys posted.

Giphy

Of course, I plan to make sure I write about all of the amazing things I'll see and do. I'll make sure to include lots of awesome pictures!

I'm really excited about this trip and can't wait to check off everything on this list!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
