Although it is only midterm week in the fall semester, living and being on a team with people who are juniors and younger at college has constantly reminded me that I leave in May. Between how they ask questions about college life and what it is like being a senior and doing or saying things that remind me about it, I am constantly being given a reality check that in a few months I'm walking up getting that piece of paper and having to go into the real world. Below are a few things that I have noticed after only being a senior for a few months.
- You don't have to worry about the fight for housing
The last few years ensuring you had a place to live the following was one of the top priorities. Now with graduating you can find your own place without having thousands of people trying to get one of the 500 spots on the apartments or building you want.
2. No more making your schedule how you want it
Now with college out of the way, you will now have to pay bills, rent, and navigate through life without someone there constantly.
4. Your college debt is coming for you
Six months and the loans that you used to pay are coming back to you sucking your money out of your pocket!
5. You have to look for a job in your field
Now with that piece of paper you can finally get a job that isn't part time and actually is something you're interested in!
6. That chance to go abroad for a few months to study and explore on your own time is now gone.
Remember how you wanted to go away to Europe during school? Now you have to go on your vacation time from work.
7. If you’re an athlete you're about to leave behind a sport you dedicated yourself to.
You're about to hand in your sport's uniform for your work clothes and it sucks after doing something you loved for years.
8. When you get to your new job, you're back at the bottom of the totem pole.
It's freshman year all over again.
9. After you graduate all your younger friends are staying at school.
Even if your days aren't the best they'll still be there for you and will always welcome you back.
