A new semester is about to start and students already attending or are about to attend the University at Buffalo are ready to delve into the large campus.
Yet, it's easy to get lost among the throngs of students, so here is a list of inside information they won't tell you at Orientation.
1. There's a Tim Horton's in the Alfiero Center, and the line is almost always shorter than the one in the Student Union.
2. "Hubies" is pronounced "Hue-bees" not "Hub-ees" -- no matter how many people try to argue otherwise.
3. "Hubies" also has the best midnight snacks.
4. The Nutella and Granola wrap is the best thing you'll ever eat.
5. Download the UB app, and you can see the dinner menu for any dining hall (i.e C3)
6. The Stampede bus line to get to South Campus on a Friday or Saturday night is always ridiculously long. Hair pulling is almost always ensued... be sure to get there early to ensure a seat.
7. You're probably going to have to stand on the Stampede bus at least once, and you'll probably fall. Laugh it off.
8. Greiner Hall is a great place to study, especially in the day time because it's not too crowded.
9. NEVER WALK ALONE ON SOUTH CAMPUS AT NIGHT.
10. There's a hiking trail behind Ellicot complex and it's always fun to explore.
11. Leave your dorm a half hour before class starts, especially when the weather is bad. Campus is huge, and classes are far from the dorms.
12. Pistachio's has the BEST pasta dishes, but be sure to wait in line for 30-45 minutes. (it's worth it)
13. The Starbucks on campus doesn't accept dining dollars, but "Perks" does.
14. Everyone should sign up for "Oozefest" but space is limited, so form teams before sign-up day.
15. The tailgate series is the best part of UB Football. (Especially if you like Country Music)
16. Lockwood Library is always crowded, no matter what time of day. It's also open 24 hours a day.
17. Biard Point is beautiful, and you can always watch the sunset. It's a great place to de-stress.
18. Though there's a lot to do on campus, be sure to venture into the city of Buffalo if you can.
19. Be ready for the best four years of your life.
