7 Things I Learned Seeing My Bestfriends Graduate

I always wondered why people graduating college went from being super excited to be done, to super stressed out. After watching my best friends graduate I saw a lot of things that I needed to prepare for. I saw life start to hit my friends and some of their friends around them. It showed me I need to get ready for the adult life after school.

1. Getting family together

I thought this would be the easy part, but keeping up with who comes in town when and who is coming and not coming is crazy. There are so many things to plan for like the family dinner. They goal is to make everyone happy and have a good weekend celebrating but that does not always happen.

2. Parents getting emotional

Even though I have not graduated yet, my parents are already talking about how fast time flew by. Let us just say all childhood pictures come out during the time leading up to graduation and even during. Be prepared to hide any photos that you do not want anyone to see.

3. All the meetings

There are so many meetings just to tell you over and over that you are graduating. These meetings become old and seem to take forever. That takes time out of your eating schedule so if possible take food with you to every meeting and a big drink.

4. Finding the perfect outfit

Now this is mostly for the girls out there. This may not seem like a big deal but leading up to graduation it all of the sudden becomes a huge deal. By that time it is hard to find anything you want. Also have two outfits at the ready just for weather purposes, because you never know if it’s going to be warm or cold.

5. Be organized

I have seen that when a friend of mine was not organized he had no idea what was even going on the week of his graduation and that added a lot of stress on him and his parents. That made things confusing and chaotic.

6. Worrying about being an adult

This is when you have to make sure things are together for getting a job. Some people go right into a job right out of school and others are not as lucky. This is a huge stressor to any student graduating, because this is when you go into the world on your own. For those not as lucky to have a job right out of school it becomes hard and this is the big fear for all of those graduating.

7. Good times

Through all of the craziness, this will be an amazing time. This is the last time you are on campus, and the last time you will take classes unless you go back for your masters. Even then you will not have the same kind of experience that you had when you were there for your bachelors. This is the time when you look back to the crazy times you have had during freshmen year. Actually the crazy times you had every year. You will look back to all the people you have met and the great friends you now have. The sad part is that you all won’t be in the same area or on campus together. You will be happy to finally be done with school but you will be sad that the years of craziness will be over.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
