Being a daddy's girl definitely has its perks! I wouldn't trade this job for the world. He's the best male role model I know because he's selfless, compassionate and hardworking. Here are seven things you know if you're a daddy's girl:
1. You miss him when you're gone.
Yeah, you can call each other whenever. But, when you leave home to go back to college, he's the hardest person to say goodbye to. You guys have the strongest bond and it's hard to let go.
2. Your boyfriend is your second favorite man.
You have heart eyes for your boyfriend, but no guy compares to your father and the love you have for him. Your dad will always be your favorite man, but your boyfriend is definitely first runner up and you wouldn't want it another way.
3. His opinions always matter more than your own.
No matter what, your father’s opinions mean more than you think, even if you don't want them to. Sometimes he might not agree with you, and it bums you out. Or sometimes he agrees with you, and your heart warms up because you're so happy he agrees. His opinions matter most to you, even sometimes more than your own. When you're stuck and you don't know what to do, you turn to him for his wisdom. You look up to him and it's great to have that!
4. He's the person you look forward to seeing when you need a good laugh.
When things aren't going the way I expected, or when I’m just going through a tough time, I always call my dad. I won't even tell him how I’m feeling, but once he tells me all of the funny things he does at work, I can't help but feel so much better. When I do tell him I’m feeling down, he tells me jokes and will occasionally give me some great advice.
5. We love the same shows and movies.
My dad and I love to watch movies or TV shows all day. We can get lazy!
6. My close friends consider him as a father too.
All of my close friends that I spend most of my time with consider my dad their dad, too. Just because he is silly and caring towards them just like he is to me!
7. He was the first man to buy me flowers.
Occasionally, in the mornings, my father would pick out a flower for me from our bushes in the front or backyard. And every Valentine's Day he would buy me flowers and it would make me feel so loved.
