Things I'm Thankful For 365 Days A Year

Because gratitude and thankfulness shouldn't be limited to once a year.

There are 365 days in a year.

Three hundred and sixty-five days, yet we wait to share what we are thankful for until the fourth Thursday of each November. Why wait? Tomorrow, you might not wake up. A week from now, you might be diagnosed with cancer. Six months from now you might get into a car accident and never make it home. The point is - we aren't promised a tomorrow, so be thankful year round instead of just when there is turkey on the table.

Each and every day I wake up, I am thankful for my health. While I might occasionally wake up and dread getting out of bed (okay, almost every day), I am still thankful that I was given the opportunity to another day, in good health. I am also thankful for my family's health and they're opportunity to another day on this blue and green sphere.

Speaking of family, I am also thankful for them. From my parents, to my siblings, to my fiance, daughter, grandparents and in-laws - I am thankful. Without their love, guidance and support I wouldn't be half the person I am. Because of them, my life is filled with opportunities and adventure, love and laughter.

To my friends, I am thankful for you. My life is so much more colorful and tolerable thanks to each of you. Whether you are a co-worker that I spend 40 hours a week with or a best friend that lives two hours away - you are worth millions to me.

Pizza, Ho-hos, chocolate donuts, coffee and wine are at the top of the food chain for me, but I am thankful for food (and drink) in general. I am thankful for a full tummy and food in the cupboards, year round. I know there are many, near and far, who go to bed hungry far too often.

I am thankful for the roof over my head and surplus of shoes and clothing in my closet. I am thankful for hot showers and clean drinking water. I am thankful for fresh air and the country I live in (even though I'm not quite on board with the whole Cheeto as president thing yet). I am thankful for the freedoms to express myself and the right to love who I love. I am thankful for a college education and a full-time job to help pay the bills.

Today and every day, I am thankful for these things. Thankful to be living, loved, appreciated and valued.

Don't waste away 364 days bottling what your thankful for. Be thankful, always.

"Repeat daily: Today, I am thankful."

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
