12 Things I Learned in 2017

2017 was a roller coaster from start to finish, but these are the most important things I learned/

12 Things I Learned in 2017

1. People won't always be honest with you, sometimes they'll just tell you what they think you want to hear. And sometimes the best thing to do is to simply stop talking to them

2. There is no sense in being sad over someone that does not value or respect you as a person.

3. Going back to the same person who broke you is not going to fix you, and some people never change. Why put yourself through that again?

4. Always be safe and cautious with anything you're doing. You never know who may be watching and you never know what could happen.

5. Don't ever be an option for someone. Don't be the person they talk to only when they're bored. You should not be a cigarette, you should not be something they light up when they're bored and stomp out when they're done.

6. Don't be sad when one opportunity is no longer available, it probably wouldn't have been good for you, and another opportunity will present itself soon.

7. Don't spend your whole summer inside, it's not good for your physical or mental health. Go outside, spend time with friends or spend time alone, whatever it is, just do something.

8. Sometimes you'll find friends in the most unexpected people and in the most unexpected ways. Just go with the flow and see what happens. Maybe it'll end up being the best thing to happen to you.

9. Do what's going to make you happy because in the long run, your happiness is what matters, not what other people think. You can't let someone else make decisions for you because it's your life and your happiness on the line, not theirs.

10. Yes, you may always have doubts that creep into your mind, but that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you. Do what makes you happy, even if your mind is trying to play tricks on you.

11. When you love, love with everything you have. And just because they can't say they love you yet because they don't know it feels like, doesn't mean that they don't love you.

12. Sometimes things that start horribly, end in the best way.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
