In the world today, we girls need to stick together. We need to band together to be taken seriously. We cannot continue to tear each other down, because that makes it easier for other people to treat us badly. We can be so powerful and we could have life long friendships, but there are some things that we have got to stop doing to each other. These things will not just make us better women, but better leaders, better friends, and better members of society.
Comparing yourselves to one another.
It is not worth it. If you are always wishing to be someone else then you will miss the opportunity to be the best person you can be. Comparing yourself to celebrities or your friends will not make you a better person. Spend your time trying to make yourself better. Set your own goals even if others do not see it as an accomplishment. Rock your personality because it is awkward if you try to copy another one.
Excluding each other.
Leaving people out does not make you more in, it just means you are passing up on a potential friendship. It amazes me how almost everyone knows how it feels to be left out, yet they still do it to other people knowing the pain. Girls will not gain power or respect by mistreating others or acting like a secret society. End the cycle and kill them with kindness.
Putting each other down.
Use your voice for something good. Spend your energy lifting people up besides putting them down. Look beyond yourself to notice people who are struggling and think about how you can help them. Offer a hand, offer a kind word, offer your time. Do not think for a minute that putting someone else down will somehow lift you up.
Lying to each other.
If we should know anything as young ladies it is that the truth always comes out. Remove the chance of having blood on your hands by owning up to your faults and mistakes. Be someone that your friends and peers can trust. To be able to find someone that you can trust you must first be someone that can be trusted.
Partaking in gossip about each other.
If you have nothing else to talk about besides people and what they say, do, and wear, then you seem very dull and shallow. Learn to talk about ideas and your goals. Learn to ask others about their dreams and aspirations. Learn to shift the conversation from negative tones to positive ones.
Cheating to get ahead.
Cheaters never win, at least in the long run. So play fair and cease your opportunity. If you cannot get something without cheating then you were not good enough to have it in the first place. Morals and hard work will take us so much farther than tricks and short cuts.
