Everyone has that one person in his or her life that is there go to person. They know all your secrets, you act super weird around them and they don’t judge you for it, and when you go places, everyone knows you’re a package deal. It’s your best friend. You spend most of your time with this person so you probably take your awesome friendship for granted because you’re so used to it but after reading this you’ll think about your person and want to go thank them.
When getting ready with your best friend you don’t think twice about going into her closet and putting something on of hers. You don’t ask and you probably don’t even tell her you’re going to borrow a shirt or whatever you set your eyes on that day. I know I don’t. What’s mine is hers and what’s hers is mine. So next time you reach your hands into her closet, don’t ask because she’ll probably say, “ Why are you even asking?” and laugh at you. Just throw it on and say, thanks.
Have you ever been back and forth in a relationship and every time you break up you run straight to your best friend and cry? Yeah, me too. Something you should really thank your best friend for is letting you cry in her arms and baby you but then telling you to suck it up and move on. One thing I could always count on is my best friend's honesty. If no one else was going to give it to me straight, I knew she would. I want to thank my best friend so much for never letting me go out looking stupid. Telling me not to wear that dress because in fact, I did look fat and never letting me experiment new hairstyles when going on a first date. Oh yeah and thanks for saying,” Wtf are you doing? Don’t send that text message. You’ll look stupid.” Thanks for being brutally honest when no one else would. For that I know you are truly my best friend.
There are many things you should thank your best friend for but one thing I can never thank mine enough for is showing me what real friendship is and becoming more than a best friend. You become so close with whom you consider your best friend that you consider them family. Thank you for handling my embarrassing family and hanging around the house so much that when family trips are planned you’re included in them. We are together so much that people think you’re my sister and we casually say,” Yeah we get that a lot.” It’s funny because we don’t even look alike and people still think that. I can’t imagine life without you and I can’t tell you how lucky I am to have a best friend like you.
Sorry for being kind of a jerk and taking you for granted but I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for being a positive impact on in my life and always being by my side, never letting me down, always keeping it real with me, and being the one to laugh with until our abs hurt. If you have a friend that you feel this way about make sure you never let them go and once in a while tell them thank you.
