Things I Don't Tell You Enough, Mom
Jessica Harper

If there is any such thing as super heroes, you must have been hiding your cape all along because you're definitely one of them. You live such a selfless life, and your giving soul never stops. You deserve the world, mom, you truly do. There is no way I can possibly measure up to all you have done for myself, our family, and others in the community... but I hope someday, I can give you everything you so much deserve.

Thank you for always being my number one fan. Even if it meant going over 24 hours without sleep, you were always there to support me in anything I was ever a part of.

Thank you for always pushing me to be the best "me" I can be. You've shown me what it means to work hard and earn everything I have, and you've helped me every step of the way. When I'm wrong, you're always the the first to tell me, but you still have my back no matter what. From day one, you've believed in any dream I've ever had, no matter how crazy or out of reach others may think it is. Having a mom like you has seriously been nothing short of a blessing, and because of you, I love myself and the world a heck of a lot more.

I look forward to the texts you send me telling me "sweet dreams and jelly beans" each night before I go to bed, and there's nothing I cherish more than the days we get to spend catching up on life and laughing to the point we snort.

No matter where I go after graduation, please don't be sad. It is because of you that I have the courage to chase my dreams. No amount of miles will ever come between all that we have. You will always be my absolute best friend, and the offer is always open if you want to just move in with me.

I love you, mama, and happy birthday- you don't look a day over 25.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
