College students are known, among other things, for our out-of-the-box and sometimes outrageous outfit choices. We "adults" can get away with almost any fashion faux-pas with the simple excuse of being a college student. You could walk down the street in nothing but a diaper and a coconut bra and people would shrug it off and think, "Ugh, there goes another college student." These are the 10 fashion crimes college students made cool in 2015.
1. Onesies
There is no shame in strutting through campus donning a tiger onesie. We started the year with just geese on our campus. But now we have lions and tigers and unicorns and minions... oh my!
2. Crop tops with literally anything
A few short years ago, one could only crop a picture. In recent years, college students have figured out how to crop a top. Go us! These half-shirts pop up on nearly every occasion. Class? Oh, throw on a crop top with high-waisted shorts. Class in the cold? A crop top with a high-waisted skirt and tights should do just fine. Party? A crop top with a skirt will make you fit in perfectly.
3. Crocs
After a brief hiatus, they were back this year and worse than before. College students always think it's funny to bring back trends that were never acceptable in the first place.
4. Bikini t-shirts
These large tee shirts hide the fact that you didn't go to the gym all semester but still have a "hot bod" somewhere inside you... or your t-shirt drawer.
5. Tutus
When in doubt, tutu it out. You were never a ballerina or even a dancer, but you came up with every possible excuse to wear these to any themed party.
6. Jumpsuits and Rompers
It's a pair of shorts. No, it's a dress. No, it's... umm both? College students rocked these peeing obstacles throughout the summer and winter.
7. Cornrows
Only in college is it tolerated to cornrow half your hair for a party and sport it to class the next morning.
8. Gym clothes to everywhere other than the gym
We're notorious for wearing workout clothes everywhere we go, except the gym.
9. Flash tattoos
All of us regretted that flash tat necklace we put on for a Friday night party that lasted until the next weekend. New years resolution: I will not put any more flash tats on places you cannot cover for class.
10. Fanny packs
The only two groups of people in this world who wear fanny packs are older women in Disney World and college women at parties. If something can hold my phone and my room key while I dance, I'm all in.
Let's see what other fashion faux-pas we can turn into trends in 2016. Rock on, trendy college students.
