Thanksgiving is a time to be with family and reflect on how thankful you are for everything in your life. While some of these things may change from year to year, and others stay the same, I know all college students are thankful for these few things this year.
1. Chipotle
So, maybe the food chain hasn't had its best year with an E. Coli outbreak forcing a few locations to close. But nonetheless, no college student can say they aren't thankful for burritos the size of their face or a guac. covered bowl that tastes like heaven.
2. Booze
Every college student's thoughts: "Thank - you, thank - you, thank - you, alcohol, for always having my back. You help me forget my ex, make me brave enough to talk to my crush, and you create the greatest memories that I already forgot."
3. Roommates
You eat each others' food and wear each others' clothes, and most of all you understand each other when no one else does. We're thankful for having that person to annoy when we're bored, and someone always down to watch a movie or go out with you.
4. Netflix
Although this may be a love hate relationship, college students are thankful for Netflix regardless of how much it makes them procrastinate or how late it makes them stay up binge watching. When all else fails, turning on Netflix is guaranteed to make your day a little better- whether it's three seasons of Grey's Anatomy alone with a bottle of wine, or Netflix-and-chill with bae.
5. Caffeine
Every college student has a different poison- whether it's daily Starbucks, a RedBull before they go out, or a five-hour energy drink to get them through the all-nighter studying for that exam they forgot about. Whichever it is, or some combination of them all, all college students are thankful for this crazy "drug" that gets us through the day and often times night.
6. Thanksgiving Break
This break couldn't have come at a better time. After every single professor decided to assign four years worth of work in the past week, we're finally free to go home and relax (and do the other work that that one asshole professor assigned during break). From home cooked FREE food, to your own bed, to seeing your high school friends and family for the first time in what feels like centuries, thanksgiving break is something all college students need and are extremely thankful for.
So yeah, we're thankful for our family, we're thankful for how fortunate we are to be getting an education, and we're thankful for how #blessed we've been in our lives thus far. But at the end of the day, these six things have been helping us through college and we are SO thankful for them. Happy Thanksgiving.
