With finals week upon us, I have been reminiscing about those times when I was back in Catholic high school. There are so many things that I miss, and so many things that I don’t miss…
1. Finding out who got the most service hours.
2. Going to school with people that actually cared about their schoolwork.
3. Saying a prayer every day as a group.
4. The fact that we were all one big family.
5. Christmas decorations everywhere.
6. Roasting in the summer and freezing in the winter.
7. Everyone knowing everything about everyone else.
8. Having peers understand your religiousness.
9. Catholic Schools Week.
10. Knowing all of my teachers extremely well.
11. Dress-down days.
12. Having extremely strict rules for what could be worn on dress-down days.
13. After-school trips to the nearest fast food restaurant.
14. Wearing a uniform.
15. Rolling your uniform skirt.
16. Mass during the school day (and getting out of class).
17. Yearly retreats.
18. Wearing knee highs (and getting that line around your calves from the elastic).
19. Getting a stellar education.
20. Being thankful for having the time of your life in Catholic school.
