We all have that one friend who has now become family. I was blessed and met this person in 1st grade. After 11 years of friendship, I couldn't be any more thankful. She has honestly made me realize why having a lifelong best friend is a great thing.

1. They are a shoulder to cry on

Bad day? Going through a rough breakup or even a rough week? Need to vent? They will always be the first person who will be all ears and listen to anything and everything you need to say.

2. Endless adventures

They will almost always be your go-to person when it comes to road trips and adventures. Plus every time the two of you go on one, you come back with the best memories and so many things to talk about.

3. Deep convos

Whether it be gossiping or ranting, these convos go on for hours on end, and there's always tears of laughter or tears of hurt. Either way, there is never. day that goes by that there isn't something good to talk about.

4. They're the one person you can ALWAYS rely on

Need some late night snacks? Forgot something? Need someone to go with you somewhere? They always have your back. They very rarely let you down, and will feel bad about it for days on end if they do. You never have to worry about anything going downhill with them.

5. No sugar-coating

They will straight up tell you if you aren't looking too good. They also aren't going to stand back and let you think good things about a person or scenario when they know the truth about it. On top of that, they won't be afraid to let you know how they feel about the person you date. They also won't be the person that hides secrets from you. They would rather tell you the truth no matter how bad it may hurt, instead of letting you believe something completely different and have it destroy you.

6. You can always be yourself around them

They won't ever try to change you in any way, unless it's to help you improve yourself.

7. You never get bored when you're together

There is never a dull moment. You two genuinely enjoy each other's company and can always have fun doing something, even if it's just sitting on the couch binge watching Netflix.

8. You both know that you're friendship will never end

Let's face it. By this point, you two are stuck with each other forever. You truly enjoy having them as your best friend. You have been through thick and thin with each other, and nothing could ever destroy this friendship.

9. They will always be your #1 supporter

They will never fail to support you with every decision you make. They enjoy watching you play your sport, and will always be the loudest one in the stadium, or arena. They make it obvious that nobody else will ever top them when it comes to supporting you.

10. The both of you are practically the same person

You have now become the same person. You think the same, have the same interests, dislike the same things, and feel the same way about a lot of things.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
