These Parks and Recreation Characters Are In Every Sorority

This list was created because I just binge watched Parks and Rec and had an epiphany.

The Leslie Knope

This is the girl that is unmistakably dedicated to her work and most likely holds a position in the house. She made her planner herself because no brand name planner could hold all her thoughts and color coding abilities. Her room is reminiscent of a hoarder not because she doesn’t clean, but because she just has so much going on there is simply no time. While she has a lot going on in her own life her friends are always the top priority. She also is the BEST gift giver and everyone wants to be her little so they can get personalized gifts.

The Tom Haverford

This girl is the life of the party and knows how to throw one. She is most likely the Social Chair or Social Media chair because of her eye for style and innovation. She is also a style innovator and loves mixing outfits together, whether they are a hit or miss. She is definitely in her own world when it comes to creativity, but she is a loyal friend none-the-less.

The Ann Perkins
This is the girl who always has her head firmly on her shoulders. She is the realistic and rational one when ideas and girls get out of hand. You go to her for her good listening skills, but she also has great advice. She would probably be the Member Education Chair so that she can look over all the girls and help train the incoming members. She cares so much about each individual girl, but is also looking out for the good of the community.

The Andy Dwyer

This is the loveably impulsive girl. While her decisions aren’t always thought through she does them with all her heart. Her impulsiveness makes it hard to hold a position in the house, but she is guaranteed to be at every event cheering everyone on. She is enthusiastic about everything and especially shines during rush week. She is the kind of personality that shines best when not controlled so its always best to just let her be herself. While her rash decisions can be stressful at times, she always means the best and is a forever friend.

The Donna Meagle

This is the absolute fashionista of the house and all around creative girl. She is most likely the Couture Chair for the house and designs all the T-Shirts and banners. The girls in the house will come to her for fashion/make-up advice and she is more than willing to bestow her knowledge. On Rush Week she is the one running around making sure hair and makeup look up to par. This girl is invaluable to the houses image, but she also has a big heart for her sisters and loves sharing her creativity with people she loves.

The Chris Traeger

This is the girl who is the health nut of the house. Her room is filled with organic breakfast bars and soy milk. While fitness is a large part of her life, she is notoriously positive. Every time you see her she is smiling ear to ear and her positivity rubs off on you. There is no doubt that she would hold every position in the house if possible, but she is most likely Recruitment Chair.

The Ben Wyatt

This is the girl that can come off as controlling, but really just wants the best for everyone. Her perfectionist attitude can be frustrating at times and you probably envy her ability to get work done so efficiently. However, this girl is passionate for the people she cares about and her logical decisions make her ideal for being President of the house. Considering she is always on top of her work and definitely able to be stern about payments Financial Officer would also suit her well.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
