"Fantastic Panels and Where to Read Them" - 4 Comic Strips You May Enjoy
Cyanide & Happiness - comics

So this is going to be a little different from me today, guys. I was going to preface this piece with a large segment about media takeovers; specifically, the wholesale dissolution of the printed word in the age in which we now live, newspapers being read online more than in one's hand, how I as a writer still have a sense of intimate interaction with print, the overall value in what's left of physically holding something, be it a book or paper, while reading as opposed to the modern-era convenience of being able to double-click and have it right there on a screen instead... Yeah, that would've been the whole nine yards of that topic. However, for the sake of time, I'll jump straight to to the point:

Whether you're on the Web or in front of an actual copy of that day's post, you've still usually got your reliable comic strips. But online, artists may also resort to posting their strips on Instagram first. But wherever you can find one, even if they're not Calvin and Hobbes or Garfield nowadays, I'm simply glad that people still read them. It's hard to market oneself in this field, but many have found success.

So, the point: I, briefly, have included examples of four such achievers below! I hope you also take a look! Because sure, much of their humor aligns with mine, but the ways in which they so deftly describe and illustrate universally-problems and inject laughs while handling them is something special, too.

1. Sarah Scribbles

The oh-so-relatable comics of of Sarah Andersen, better known as Sarah Scribbles (Adulthood is a Myth: A Sarah Scribbles Collection is her book which is also available too!) is one of a kind, to be sure. The eyes, gestures, and amazingly awkward personas (Oh, and Man Bunnies!) displayed in her panels will have that inner voice reading in your head chuckling in no time.

2. Noob the Loser

AC Stuart, a cartoonist for CollegeHumor, is hysterical. His best work, besides ones like the strip shown above, in my opinion, come not just from his 'Ben & Steph' relationship comics, but also any comic where Ben deals with the gripes of the workplace. The painful truths behind so many of them will have you laughing and also nodding along like "Damn, dude..."

3. Enzo Comics

Three words, one name: Technically Correct Man. While absent from the comic shown here, check out him along with the rest of Enzo's comics. Hilarious.

4. The Awkward Yeti - Heart & Brain

"Finally, a comic that brings our organs to life!" You may not be thinking that going into this, but the relationship between the characters here, especially the convivial, life-loving, consequences-be-damned attitude of Heart combined with the calculating and logical Brain who still manages to bring on the misadventures, is great. The Yeti's work is not to be missed!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
