This week I leave for a vacation in Florida prior to my check in for the Disney College Program, and my emotions are going crazy. These past few days have been full of goodbyes and having to say "see ya real soon" to the people that mean the most to me. The mix of emotions that I am feeling isn't making it any easier to leave my hometown.
1. Anticipation
Like Rapunzel, I can't keep my mind still. Everything still seems so surreal and I'm just anticipating the moment that I check in, go through traditions, get my ears and name tag and can officially say that I am a Disney Cast Member! Leaving a week early and staying in the happiest place on earth will only make this anticipation worse, but seeing festival of fantasy and all of the other shows and parades will cure Disney fever. Now with the news that the Electrical Parade is leaving soon, its nice to be on vacation and know that this isnt my last time seeing this parade!
2. Nerves
Aladdin parting with Genie is exactly like my parting with my family and friends. It's extremely bittersweet, but we all know that this experience is once in a life time and something that I wouldn't change for anything. Seeing all of my family members and friends at my going away party (Thanks Mom and Dad!) was everything I could have asked for this week. Given the chance that I have, there is nothing that I would let get in my way of pursuing my dream of working for the mouse.
4. Excitement
Oh, Anna. How I understand your excitement. I think that easily half of my tears shed over leaving for the program are tears of sheer happiness and joy. Never in a million years would I have thought that I would be working in the happiest place on earth and making magic for everyone looking to experience the vacation of a lifetime.
