To all of my Disney friends who think this is some sort of really weird confession,
It isn’t.
To the people who are getting ready for their Disney College Program,
You’re going to fall in love over and over again even if you swear that you won’t. I know that falling in love during the Disney College program sounds a little far-fetched, it sounds like a fairytale, but it’s inevitable.
You’ll fall in love with meeting people from all over the world.
You’ll fall in love with the friends you’ll make.
You’ll fall in love the late night food trips you take with your fellow cast members (if you’re lucky enough to close the Magic Kingdom, like I did, IHOP and Steak N Shake will be your only options).
You’ll fall in love with the vent sessions with your roommates.
You’ll fall in love with how brave and fearless you can be. Moving somewhere completely new can be terrifying. Riding the big rollercoasters can be terrifying. But you’ll when you take a deep breath and go for it, you’ll fall in love with them both.
You’ll fall in love with no matter how much you love Florida, some days you just want to go home. My College Program made me appreciate Mississippi so much more.
You’ll fall in love with the nights that you work such long shifts that walking up the stairs to your apartment seems impossible because your feet ache so bad. Okay, so maybe you won’t love that in the moment, but one day you’ll be back home. You’ll be reminiscing about your Disney days, and you’ll realize that maybe you loved the hard work, just a little.
You’ll fall in love with the way a child’s face lights up when you take the time out of your day to stop and talk to them. These encounters are what truly get you through the days that are long, rainy, and just all around sucky
You’ll fall in love with singing along to Wishes almost every night.
You’ll fall in love with how adult you feel.
You’ll fall in love with the magic.
You'll fall in love with the possibilities.
You'll fall in love with the food. (Be Our Guest in the Magic Kingdom and Cronuts in Epcot will forever have my heart).
You’ll fall in love with being in the park when the only sound you can hear is the music.
You’ll fall in love with how bittersweet it is when it’s finally time to say ‘see ya real soon.’
You’ll fall in love over and over again with the daily little things.
I hope you’re lucky enough to fall in love with all of the things that I was lucky enough to fall in love with during the short time that I was there.
