To the college student stuck in summer classes, I feel your pain. Just like you, while all my friends are going to the beach and enjoying a beautiful summer day, I'm stuck inside doing homework/studying just like you. There is nothing worst then getting major FOMO that your friends are all having the best summer of your lives and you're questioning how long of a study break you can give yourself in between quizlets. Remember that first summer you went home without a job and you thought you would just spend the three months of summer living back at home and it would be great? Ask yourself how that summer really felt after living on our own all of freshman year and then moving back home. As much as summer classes suck, you can look at the positives.
1. You're getting ahead on your school work
This means you probably won't have to work as hard or take a heavy course load in the fall during football season, so who's the real winner?
2. Two words: online classes
This gives you the best of both worlds. You can take online classes, and still enjoy your summer. If you know how to make the most of your time and can get all of the busy work online classes give, you can enjoy your summer with your friends as well.
3. You get to hang with your friends all summer
You can't really complain about living it up with your friends still at school, can you? Think about your friends at home who're just sitting there missing out on a friday happy hour, bummer.
4. You can get a tan, and do your school work
Kill time by laying out by the pool and working on your homework during the day. It'll look like you've been at the beach all along.
5. You don't have to move out of your apartment
Don't you feel sorry for all your friends who had to move out of their apartment for the summer or try to find a sublease? I do.
So if you think about it, taking summer classes isn't really all that bad. You get to spend the summer with your friends and get ahead on your courses. It's a win/win.
