The Truth About Love
Caitlyn Passmore

Ever wondered what true love feels like? The kind of love that goes beyond infatuation and intimacy. The sort of love that leaves you feeling whole and complete and comfortable with each passing day. True love is one of the sweetest sensations alive. It's too amazing to describe, words do it little justice. It's like stumbling upon shelter in the midst of a storm, it's secure and warm. It's like resurfacing from the deepest abyss in the ocean and inhaling lungs full of air. When you're truly in love with somebody I've come to find that it is the little things, the brief ungraceful moments, the odd unplanned weird seconds that capture more and more of the heart rather than the sparks and spectacular ardor you see in all the movies. Simple, little tiny things that you never would've imagined to be romantic become so after a few years together in their own unique way. True love isn’t always noise and crescendo, sometimes it’s enjoying each other’s company in silence. It is within those moments when there are no words spoken aloud that huge loving gestures are made noticeable, like that lapse between searching for each other's hands in the dark, out of the blue forehead kisses, and finding yourself being reeled into unexpected cuddles. It's wearing his jacket in subzero weather. It's avoiding all sounds and movement when your significant other is napping so you don’t disturb them. It's removing the crust from sandwiches and trying to cook a four course dinner when you can barely work the microwave. It’s also eating burnt meals and then mutually agreeing upon fast food. True love is more than giddy feelings and kaleidoscope colors. True love is missing each other when you're apart. True love is sarcastic remarks and hunting Pokémon together in the scorching summer heat, and then settling down and reading books together. True love isn’t always pretty. In fact, true love is all about encountering frustrating situations together, like car malfunctions, disagreements, panic attacks and overreactions, and of course handling them together as teammates. True love is acceptance on the deepest level. Acceptance of achievements, acceptance of imperfections, acceptance of who you are as an individual and still adoring every inch of your companion. True love is laughing uncontrollably together. It’s getting lost in each other’s eyes and smiling when you both have food all over your mouths. It's comforting each other when you're scared. It’s dancing together everywhere you go. It’s making each other coffee and going shopping together. It's learning and eventually memorizing things about one another. Its rating burps on a scale of one to ten. Its messy hair and tickling each other and playing competitive card games. Its passionate kisses and being slouchy together in pajamas. It’s spending the holidays together and singing together in the car. Its foot massages after a hard day at work and telling each other everything. It’s using the same catch phrases and receiving random I love you’s throughout the day. True love is being there for each other twenty four seven, motivating and supporting one another. True love is taking care of each other. It’s falling in love with the same person everyday more and more. True love is being in love with your best friend, somebody you can rely on and can trust with your life. True love is eternal. It's an unbreakable bond of dedication and devotion, it's heaven on earth. I'm beyond happy I've found my one and only true love.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
