Summer is the best season to get out, explore our surroundings and enjoy the weather. Colorado is the perfect state to do just that. Here in Colorado, we love the outdoors and we enjoy experiencing each season to its fullest. Whether you like the outdoors or love to just relax and shop, there is an activity here for you! Below I mention various activities in Denver and Boulder that are inexpensive and pleasurable.

1. In Denver

16th Street Mall

Located in Downtown, the mile-long mall is packed with shopping, restaurants and various attractions to keep those young and old entertained. 16th Street is a great hangout spot for anyone looking to relax and clear their thoughts. Its prime location makes it very easy to access the Capitol and the Denver Mint. You can even take some amazing photos, like the one below.

Red Rocks Amphitheater

A man-made rock amphitheater about 10 miles west of Denver where concerts are held. The area also has breathtaking views of Denver and has an abundance of hiking trails ranging from beginner to intermediate. I highly recommend attending a concert at this venue -- there is just no other concert hall like it; a once in a lifetime experience.

Downtown Aquarium

Denver's only massive indoor aquarium. If you have young ones, they will love being able to touch real live stingray at the end of the tour. I highly recommend checking out this affordable adventure!

Cherry Creek

Cherry Creek offers everything from premier outdoor retail to fine dining with an array of independently owned boutiques. This area is composed of housing, shopping and breathtaking views of the Rockies. For those shopaholics in your life, take them here for a day of nonstop excitement!

Coors Field

Go Rockies!! Coors Field is Colorado's major league baseball field located in the heart of downtown, an awesome experience for the whole family!

2. In Boulder

Boulder Reservoir/ Coot Lake

This is a great small lake, especially when the weather is nice. Ten minutes past downtown Boulder, this is an area that takes you out into the outdoors without having to go too far from civilization.

Flatirons

These are rock formations that are breathtaking. As you drive up Flagstaff Mountain, there are many pull-offs that make it possible to get even closer to these formations! The first time that I drove up the mountain, I was intrigued by different views around each corner! This is great area for hiking, too! Another part of Colorado that is unlike any other.
