Today I had the opportunity to attend my best friend's (also known as my goddaughter's mother) baby shower. All of the decorations and the set up met beyond all expectations that I had in mind. I can easily say that it was beyond the most creative (a.k.a absolutely adorable, not being biased at all) baby showers I have ever had the pleasure of attending. Here are my top ten favorite things I love most about baby showers!

1. The adorable theme

The theme of my goddaughter's (Madison Ann-Marie) baby shower was a Minnie Mouse theme and everything couldn't have been anymore perfect!

2. All of the creative decorations

A majority of all of the decorations that were there were things that I could never think up all on my own! I give HUGE props to my best friend and her family for all of their inventive ideas.

3. All of the darling baby outfits

Who doesn't love to buy cute baby clothes, especially little girl clothes! And with the Minnie Mouse theme there were most certainly a lot of little Minnie tutus! I have never seen so many different types of Minnie onesies, dresses, mittens, little booties and all different types of outfits in between!

4. The baby related games

Throughout the baby shower we had a few different types of games. One of the games was a "The Price is Right" themed game where you had to guess the prices to certain baby items. Such as the price of 110 diapers or how much a pack of baby wipes were. My mom and I were the top two winners to have the closest guess! There was also a gift bingo where you write down in the bingo spaces what types of gifts you think will be opened and cross off as the gifts are opened to win a bingo! Another game that we played was a word scrabble that was related to baby things (I wasn't very good at that game).

5. The unique types of play-on-word decorations

One of my favorites in the "Just about to pop!" with a little jar of popcorn... absolutely charming.

6. The clever ways to make gifts out of useful baby items

There was such a wide variety of clever gifts that were made out of different things such as baby diapers, little bibs, lotions, baby body washes and bubble bath and other items that can be used (even though the gifts are just too cute to take apart).

7. Being able to take precious pictures with your best friend

I am glad I was able to capture all the special moments my best friend and I were able to share at her baby shower, it is a day I will never forget.

8. The delicious food

Enough said.

9. Being able to capture memorable moments with my best friend and her family

I had the honor of being able to photograph my best friend open all of her gifts and all her family having special moments together.

10. Sentimental gifts

It is always a unforgettable moment when you get to witness someone open a gift that they will be able to cherish for the rest of their lives.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
