Weekends are extremely important to college students. It's the only time they can leave behind the books, assignments, part time jobs, essays and responsibilities, and pick up a handle of vodka instead. Getting drunk every weekend isn't the only way we have fun though, sometimes we need to switch things up.
Here are the three weekends college students have:
1. The “oh my god how did I get home, I did WHAT last night?” weekend
We have all had this weekend, probably more then we want to admit. This weekend starts off innocently enough. You probably didn’t even mean to drink that much, but one thing lead to another and you drank almost a whole bottle of Jameson – by yourself. This weekend is often accompanied with not remembering how you got home, what you said or did and texting your friends the next day to piece together what actually happened. Bonus points if you don’t drunk text an ex at some point or lose your wallet/phone/keys/ID.
2. The "I'm the designated driver and life sucks" weekend
You got roped into being the DD for the night. You are surrounded by drunk people and you seem to be the only sober one in the entire bar, although this has its benefits. Hearing the ridiculous things you friend say, and possibly catching them on video, is all the reward you need for agreeing to drive. You play mother at the end of the night and make sure everybody gets home safe, drinks water and doesn’t lose anything. Not the most exciting night, but necessary sometimes. Your wallet thanks you for these kinds of weekends.
3. The "I'm staying in and watching Netflix all night" weekend
This is arguably the best kind of weekend. You get in your comfiest sweats, order some Chinese takeout and binge watch your favorite show. This can be done with or without a cuddle buddy, who also can be your pet dog. No shame. You sleep like a baby that night, knowing you didn’t spend any money on drinks, text any questionable messages or do some questionable things.
