Some days are harder than others. Some days are the absolute worst while others you feel as if you are on top of the world with a crown on your head and a million bucks in your hand. For the days that are the ones filled with doubt and remorse, you just have to hear some simple words to bring you back to your feet.

You are going to be OK.

These simple six words can get you through almost anything when you start to believe them. The only life that is easy is the one that you play on a board with your friends in the middle of the day. There are things that are going to challenge you in life, and it is your job to keep going and keep moving. These hard days are just days and do not determine the rest of your life. You are going to be OK.

It gets easier.

The day may be a great one to start. You may wake up in the greatest mood and then as soon as you step foot on the cold floor, your day goes downhill. If there is a day where everything goes just your way, you are either the luckiest duck in the pond, or you did not truly do anything. It can be a hard day or a hard week or maybe even a hard year, but eventually, it will get easier.

It might get harder before it gets easier.

Just because it will eventually get easier doesn’t mean that it is going to get easy within the nest few hours. The days can be long and the weeks are going to be longer. The harder you are tested, the stronger you will come out. Some of the most precious diamonds are put under the hardest amount of pressure for years and years. This is something to keep in mind. If life were easy, everyone would be a diamond. Take the pressure; keep going, because sometimes things are going to get harder before they get easier.

Keep going.

This is something that you should be reminded of every day and not just the days that are hard for us. There are days where our dreams are just in reach and others where they seem as if they are the distance from the moon and back 18 times. As people, we see things getting hard and sometimes just feel like the only thing that we can do it to quit. This is when it is the most important to keep going.

Don’t lose hope.

Like mentioned before, there are so many times not only throughout our lives but also throughout the day that we as humans just feel like there is no hope in what we do or what we believe in. You must keep hope. You must keep going.

Follow your dreams.

Dreams are something that you have either had from the time you could talk, or when you finally figured out what you wanted to do with the rest of your life. For people in school, these may seem impossible at some points with all of the assignments, papers, and exams. If in work, these may seem impossible for the fact that your boss has you running around, doing all of the dirty work. You must remember that this is OK and that we have to follow our dreams and to keep going. When you follow our dreams, you will be successful in them.

You can do it.

These four words are something that we need to hear from others as well as ourselves. When someone knows what you are going through, it is one of the best things that can be heard. It shows that others believe in us just as much as we would like to believe in ourselves. In the worst of the days, you have to know that you can do it.

I love you.

I love you. These are some of the most powerful and important words that a person can hear. These words can come from the one that you love more than anything or it can come from your roommate who knows exactly what you are going through. It is one of the most important things that people need to hear every day. It doesn’t matter who it really is, but it does matter that you know that someone loves you and that they believe in you. These three words are the most important thing that they can tell you, or that you can tell yourself to help you on the hardest days of your life.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
