The Struggles Of Loving Spring And Having Allergies

We love it, even through the glossy eyes and the sneezes.

The Struggles Of Loving Spring And Having Allergies

It’s finally springtime. People have emerged from their cold, winter slumber and returned to their hammocks on the Lawn. Excitement for summer has begun. Except there is evil lurking the corner, just waiting to destroy all of the springtime fun. What is this evil, you ask? Why it is none other than springtime allergies.

Allergies have been ruining the springs of people everywhere. With the sneezing, red eyes, and runny noses, allergies not only make life miserable, but they make spending time outside a real challenge. If you are like me and absolutely love spring but suffer from allergies, you know just how unfortunate is and most likely you have experienced some of these moments:

You feel absolutely miserable.

Itchy eyes, runny noses, sneezing, coughing, incessant sniffling, the symptoms are endless. It’s like having a cold but for several weeks.

Your love for flowers will never die, no matter how badly you feel.

While you might not be feeling well, you can still see how beautiful the Earth is, even through your glossy eyes. Even some sniffles won’t stop you from going outside and enjoying the flowers in bloom.

When people ask you what's wrong...

Of course, there are those few lucky individuals who actually suffer from no allergies and spend the entirety of their days outside with no repercussions.

You often feel as though the pollen is personally attacking you.

There's just no avoiding that stuff. It's falling from the sky, it's in your hair, it's on your clothes. It's just all over the place.

Nothing makes you happier than April showers because they suppress the evil pollen.

Who doesn't love a good springtime storm? Plus, it washes away that yellow stuff, bringing you some temporary relief. And it even brings May flowers.

All of this is because ultimately, you just want to go outside and enjoy the beautiful weather.

You aren't actually asking for too much, just to be able to spend time basking in the beauty that is spring.

After all, you absolutely love spring and you just want to enjoy it to the fullest of your capabilities. But is it possible for those of us that are allergic to the spring to enjoy it as well? I personally do, but it is not an easy friendship. It takes work, balance, and a little sacrifice. Regardless, us allergic folk love the springtime more than anything and we will do what it takes to make the most of it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
