The Steam Summer Sale is Live!

Well well well, it's that time of year again folks, prep you wallets and ready that spending finger because the steam summer sale is officially live! There might be some confusion as to what the summer sale is so let me break it down for you. Steam has seasonal sales (mostly one in the summer and one in the winter) that incentivize you to spend as much money as you can in a month's timeframe. Almost every game on the Steam store gets their prices slashed down to make buying games as easy as ever. To add to this they even throw a little something extra to people who participate in this event.

Lots and lots of useless stuff that feels cool to have

With a big event like this Steam usually goes out of their way to add an extra incentive to purchase games for your library. Most of the time these include things like badges to both increase your account level and add a sense of uniqueness to your profile, emotes, backgrounds, and so on. I believe Steam really outdid themselves this year with what they brought to the table. There are not only price cuts on games, but a whole new plethora of things to sink your money into. Animated emotes animated profile pictures, avatar borders, animated backgrounds, and a new badge all to explore. This probably doesn't sound as interesting to anyone who doesn't usually play on PC but trust me, this is really cool to those who do.

Steam actually gives back to the community

There isn't really another company like steam in the sense that they actually host events like this for the community. Microsoft, Nintendo, Playstation all feel like they just want your money and nothing else. And I know this sounds ironic considering it's a summer sale, but Steam feels like they go out of their way to make the event worthwhile. A lot of the things they add are pointless and don't serve that much purpose, but I feel like in a weird way that's what makes steam so special. The fact that a lot of the stuff on it isn't vital to someone's enjoyment makes it feel like there's so much more than meets the eye. One thing is for certain though, I am going to be spending my paychecks on as many games as I can before the sale ends.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
