You may be wondering why your friend is feeling so down the day after her first (or maybe fifth) One Direction show. She not feeling down because of the show, she's just going through what we like to call PCD.
Many avid concert-goers go though a phase after a show called Post Concert Depression, better know as PCD. PCD is the feeling of sadness and apathy experienced after going to an amazing show with one of your favorite artists (in this case, One Direction). It's usually because you finally fulfilled your dream of seeing them live, and you probably won't see them again any time soon. Would you like to know the stages of PCD from my point of view? Of course you would, so here they are.
1. You are super hyped for the show, and it feels like it takes forever to get there.
2. Your heart beats faster and faster as it get closer to show time with Liam, Niall, Louis, and Harry.
3. The boys get on stage and perform their little hearts out for us as we party and dance the night away to their amazing music.
4. You get a bit sad as they walk off the stage and the stadium lights come back on, except you're still experiencing a huge high.
5. As you walk out, you reminisce on the cute, adorable, and sexy moments you just saw on stage.
6. The rest of your night and the drive home take no time at all.
7. The next day, you still have a a bit of a high as you look back on your videos, pictures, and merchandise, and other people's videos from the show.
8. You also realize that you were actually there and you actually saw them in person.
9. You then make yourself get back into your normal, everyday routine.
Symptoms may include:
-Wanting to relive the concert
-Thinking to yourself "they were right there in front of me, they were less than 30 feet away from me, they know I exist!"
-Emotional pain when listening to their music after a show
PCD could last from a few hours to a few weeks. It depends on you, and on how fast you want it to go. Listen, guys, PCD is totally real, because I have gone through it way too many times for it not to be.
This last concert, which happened to be my first One Direction show, was by far the worst case of PCD I've ever had. Know the signs and symptoms, and watch out.
