This is what you've been working for for the past three years. After dreaming about college all throughout high school then getting accepted, going to college and having some great experiences and learning a lot, you've finally reached the last year. You already have your friends at school, your major classes are almost finished, and there's only a few requirements left, so this semester should be great. Right?
1. You get very excited
Senior year, whoo! You have an awesome internship, awesome friends, and you only have a year left. What can go wrong?
2. You get a little stressed out
With your first day of classes comes the discussion of papers, projects, exams, and assignments that will be due throughout the year. Not to mention you also have your thesis and graduation to worry about. Having everything set out for your whole semester in an hour or less can be a bit overwhelming.
3. You calm yourself down
Once you sit down and organize yourself, the semester starts to seem not so bad. You place an Amazon order for the books you need, highlight when big assignments are due, and get that first reading out of the way. Maybe now you'll even start researching thesis topics.
4. You get cocky
You are a total scholar. You're a pro at this. You've got this. You've done this three other years, which basically makes you an expert, right?
5. You lose your mind
It's only the first or second week of classes and you've already fallen back into old habits of procrastination and putting off. You're behind on readings already and you still have to think of a topic for that one paper and your roommate left you with a whole pile of dirty dishes and you missed calling your grandma for her birthday and you're pretty sure your boss hates you.
Welcome to senior year and good luck. We'll need it.
