The stages in modern day life is weird. I mean seriously, just think about the stages in life we tag -
1-5 years old: Baby stage. The time where crying in the middle of the night for a sip of milk and expecting your mother to know exactly what you want is a normality. When I was at this stage, rumor has it (aka my mother said) that I would cry every time someone other than my mother would hold me. I also peed in the middle of a Walmart parking spot in front of a family (I can explain, I know for a fact my mother would not let me pee in the car - it was an emergency). What kind of brat was I?
6-12 years old: Kid stage. The age where you always hear, "You're just a kid." The days where you're allowed to believe in the most utter and most ridiculous ideas. Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, maybe even the SpongeBob if you're really able to fool yourself. (Don't laugh - for the longest I thought there was actually a sponge with a pineapple house somewhere in the Pacific near Hawaii). A time where the floor was lava and broccoli was the green menace of vegetables. Also a time where we all wish to return to.
13-16 years old: Pre-Teen stage. Remember the days of the word Pre Teen? I hated that word. It's the stage where for the girls grow these things called mammalis and for guys - well, we either might get tall(er) or just watch all the premature guys take all the girls . Let's just say that I indefinitely watched those guys sweep the girls off their feet like eagles. Should've brought popcorn to school for as much as I observed.
17-20 years old: College and/or Job. Literally right out of being a teen you're forced to either go back into another 4 years of prison or plunge straight into finances, long work hours and most of all bills. You're supposed to decide and plan the rest of your life out right here (or that's what it seems). The stage where you realize the complexity in not only life's weird ties with others but also the complexity of other people. You figure out some people have completely different lifestyles and mindsets than you will ever have. I mainly see this stage as a time where you actually figure out who the hell you want to be. And the craziest part is that the stage where you try to figure yourself out is at the same time where you're supposed to find out what you're going to do with life.
+21 years old: Legally drink Alcohol. Since I personally haven't exactly been blessed with living on this Earth for at least 21 years old HOWEVER, we all know at 21 life only gets tougher, but alcohol is legal. -insert smiley face emoji-
But you get the point, my friend. We rush life. We as a civilization squeeze the best parts of our life into our youth and then it seems like we are immediately obligated to contribute to helping with this economy or that business or this charity. I personally have a goal of not working after the age 30. Whether that means that I don't have a 9-5 job every day or simply means I am so happy with my job, that it feels like a hobby, I don't want to fall into this expected cycle of life.
