1. The Childhood Friend
Ah yes, the friend that you have known since you were in elementary school when you were the playground bully and pushed someone off a slide (sorry Kaavya, I'll never forgive myself). Even worse, this friend has witnessed when you were going through your awkward middle school phase with braces and thought it was acceptable to go to the Apple Store in the mall and take 1,000 + photo booth pictures. This friend has seen it all: the awkward comb over, the braces, and all of the boys that came in and out of your life. She has been there by your side at your worst and best, yet somehow, still loves you anyway. 2. The Borderline Psychotic Friend
This friend is borderline psychotic, but in the best way possible (most of the time). She never makes you feel bad for all of your terrible life decisions after a party because hers were always worse on a global standard. This is the person that you will mutter “wtf” many times while hanging out with her, but at the end of the day, find yourself laughing in hindsight at all the crazy memories you created. She always makes you rally to go out and her mantra is, “If I can do it, so can you!” While in the moment you may be regretting saying yes to all of her crazy requests, you have the most fun with her and have funny stories to tell your other friends later!
3. The Friend You Always Tell Your Parents You’re With
Wow, how many times have I done this. “Bye mom, I’m going to watch a movie with ___!” This friend is the one that you and your parents adore. Why? Because she is an angel. Your parents would never suspect you were doing anything else besides watching a movie while with her. She is extremely academically driven, involved in many extracurricular activities, and has perfect manners. While she is a great friend and a flawless person overall, she can also be a lot of fun... (Your parents just don’t have to know that!)
4. The One Friend That Just Gets You
Alright, this friend can be dangerous. This friend is always down for whatever you want to do because she just...gets you. You always hang out with her because she understands your lifestyle. She is on par with your bad habits and in fact, enables them. Eat ice cream at 3 a.m.? No problem for her. Watch "New Girl" all day and never leave your bed? She’ll join you and yell if you try to leave. This friend is an enabler of bad habits, but you love her anyway. You love her because she can still bring out the best side of you. Let’s be real, who doesn’t need a lazy day here and there?
5. Your Low-key Therapist/Mom
This person is amazing. She is a saint because she cooks for you, but will also listen to you rant till 2 a.m. about your problems. However, sometimes you ask her for advice last because you know she’s always right, and her words of wisdom are sometimes not what you want to hear! She is the angel on your shoulder, and this is one of the friendships you know will last forever. She has always been there for you and she drives you to become a better person.
6. The One That Always Has Their Sh*t Together
OK, how does this friend do it? While all of your friends are hanging out and chaos breaks loose, this person always seems to make everything better. She can party harder than anyone in your friend group, but still has a killer GPA. You wonder if she can be your life coach because she is just so good at everything. Not only is she the epitome of the perfect best friend, but she is also perfect in every other aspect of life, like having above average grades, a hot boyfriend, and a respectable internship -- geez, can she bad at just one thing so the rest of us don't have to look so bad?
